Introduction to Jim TheManWithin

This is my place where I come to write & share what’s on my mind.
Within these pages you will find my poems, stories, thoughts, opinions, feelings,

desires, and yes my mistakes too! Were it not for them, this page might not exist.
One might say; it’s my area of expertise.
I am not a Scholar with a Degree, nor a Grade school Graduate with a Diploma.
I’m just a seasoned veteran of the battles of life!
A street survivor, who searched & found beauty in the most unsuspecting places, along the way.
I’m thankful for this opportunity to share my collection with you.
Hopefully we can continue together to turn life’s negatives into positives.

To quote two poets I greatly admire;
Jewel; from her song; Hands: “Where a man has no voice there are shadows seen”
Jewel; from her song; Hands: “Light is what darkness most fears.”
Helen Keller; from her creed: “I do not know the meaning of darkness,
but I have learned the overcoming of it.”
Helen Keller;”Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light”

I would prefer you not take my writing at face value. Take it apart & break it down
piece by piece. Inspect it carefully. If it fits back together & you still find value in it,
Great, feel free to take it to heart it as your own.
Then this blog will have served its main purpose.

I'm just a simple man who Laugh's Often, Works Hard, Loves Deeply,
Caresses Gently, Commits Faithfully, Cares Strongly, Stands firmly,
Speaks Truthfully. Prays often & Lives by Faith.

*Life’s Greatest Treasure*
A homeless man once offered me his Seasoned Heart.
Knowing it was much better than my own I took it.
As he handed it to me he said...
"Many years ago I lost everything & everyone.
This is all I have left to give. It contains life's greatest treasure.
All I ask in return is that you share it with everyone you see.
Many have yet to find it & know not of its true power & healing ability.

“For18 years I was once the homeless man I speak of.
If you ever want to know the value of ANYTHING,
just ask a man who once lived his life with NOTHING .
Nothing except life's greatest treasure he was fortunate to have carried
within him all along!

I keep my heart open for all to venture in. It’s a place where love flows freely.
To offer warmth from the cold, shade from the heat or just shelter from the storms of life
& understanding of the winds of change.
Come on in, pull up a chair, let's sit & talk awhile.

I don't consider myself to be a talented writer;
just a man who shares what his heart has to say. So please Be patient with me,
I'm trying to find my way back to where I once was as I'm guided along by the man
I'm so thankful I am becoming.
